Basin Creek and Cove Creeks: Both are
located in Doughton Park and accessible via
the Blue Ridge Parkway or from Longbottom
Road. Both streams are managed as wild trout
waters. Both creeks empty into the Middle
Prong Roaring River. Access from the parkway
however, entails a pretty tough hike through
the woods. |

|
Stone Mountain State Park: Inside the
park are several wild trout streams managed
under delayed harvest regulations. These are
Big Sandy, Garden, Harris and Widows creeks.
The largest stream in the park is the East
Prong Roaring River which dissects the park
for several miles and is easily accessed.
The western part of the park is hatchery
supported. |

Another stream, Bullhead requires a daily
fee but is well worth it. This stream is
home to some real monster rainbows as well
as brown. Catch and release and artificial
flies only.
